A film by Soraya Lutangu

Taking Care of God "(2019-2021) is a hybrid performance piece initiated and directed by Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure and starring Kingdom Gospel Club, a Gospel collective from the Congo. The project aims to explore the intersections that exist between the world of church and the club scene, analyzing their use of music and dance, and their search for trance through rhythms. Based on footage showing the processes of creating the eponymous performance in Kampala, Soraya and frequent collaborator Ali-Eddine Abdelkhalek developed a film highlighting the respective trajectories of the performers and conversations on the perception of spirituality in the world.

A film by Ola Hassanain 

Ola Hassanain’s practice explores how architecture positions building as an ecological ‘emptying’ of territories, and an infrastructure for continuous cycles of catastrophe, such as forced migration. Drawing on her research into the politics of space, Ola composed The line that follows as a constellation of manipulated perspective drawings derived from routes taken in Khartoum, abstracted forms, text, diagrams, Sufi and Zar practices – all placeholders for an unemptied space.

The film emerges from the exploration of a world without end, déjà vu, and existence through pain, loss and grief. Presenting possession as a performance art citing rituals, the constant need to connect with ancestral lineage and celebration of life. In the Film, the concept of existence takes on a new meaning. Without the finality of death, the way in which we celebrate and mourn the passing of individuals adapts and evolves. At the same time, the rituals and traditions that mark these transitions become even more important as a means of finding meaning and purpose in an endless existence.

Postcards from the Future is a process of audiovisual exchange between the communications collectives EN PUJA (Nuquí), Puerto Creativo and Tura Hip-Hop (both from Buenaventura), which in recent years have worked in a residency format to create audiovisual letters that explore the notion of future and the port that intertwine the reality of these two territories. Through documentary cinema it promotes and shares reflections, visions and feelings that are born of two territories crossed by the notion of a port: Buenaventura, a city with a port; Nuquí,a municipality with a project of construction of a port and a tradition of conservation and a fight for the territory.

1-Alabadas

 Carmen Dilia comes from Pizarro, Chocó and Gloria Tabares from Medellín, Antioquia. The story of their arrival in the territory, secrets, barter, death, resurrections, work with the land and with the communities, are part of the portrait of Nuquí that these two powerful women who arrived in the territory more than 30 years ago, tell.

2 - Silencio 

Silencio is a rhythmic sound and visual journey through the idiosyncrasies of Bonavera. This audiovisual journey sensorially incites us to question immediacy. It is a powerful story in which the voice is the sound and environmental pollution, coming from the ports and industrial companies, at odds with the rhythm of the drums and nature.
